お元気ですか。突然のお手紙、驚かせてしまってすみません。直接気持ちを伝える勇気がなくて…でもどうしても●●さんに気持ちを伝えたくてペンをとりました。
初めて出会ったのは新入社員歓迎会でした。一目見た瞬間から「素敵な人だな」と思っていた私はずっと●●さんが気になっていました。すると、お酒が飲めないのに周りからすすめられて、どうしていいのかわからず困っていた私を●●さんがかばってくれましたね。そのさりげない優しさが本当にうれしくて…胸の奥がきゅんとなったのを覚えています。

そして、今でも忘れられないのは去年の花火大会のこと。２人っきりではなかったけど、私にとっては●●さんとの初めてのお出かけ。何日も前から洋服を選んで、前の日はあまりの緊張でほとんど眠れませんでした。当日は思った以上に人が多くて、私はみんなに付いていくのがやっと…ふと周りを見ると、いつの間にかみんなとはぐれてしまって「このまま会えなかったらどうしよう」と不安でいっぱいだった時、人混みの中から●●さんが私を見つけてくれましたね。ホッとして思わず涙が出そうになったけどあの時、「よかった…」と微笑む●●さんを見ながらずっとそばにいたい…と強く思いました。
誰に対しても相手の目をまっすぐに見て話をする誠実なところも常に冷静沈着なのに、時々子供みたいに無邪気に笑うところも大好きです。

How are you? Thank you for reading this. I’m sorry to make you surprised with this letter. I just couldn’t have enough courage to tell you in person… so I decided to write you a letter.
We met at the Newcomers’ Welcoming party. At the first sight, I found you attractive so I always cared you. When people around me was trying to talk me into drinking alcohol though I can’t drink at all, you covered me. Your natural kindness made me so happy… I remember I felt my heart beat faster.
